L’Anse Activates Community Solar Panels

The Village of L’Anse’s community solar power array is now online.

Village manager Bob LaFave told the council last night that more than 90 percent the panels have been purchased…

Investors will begin to see credits on their November electrical bills.

LaFave also told the council that work has wrapped up on some updates at Meadowbrook Arena…

The upgrades were paid for with a $50,000 grant from the Portage Health Foundation.

LaFave also said that lighting at the arena is being converted to LED, which will save on the power bill.

Council members celebrated a successful Boo! On the Bay event a week and a half ago, and expressed concern about advertising signs being placed by private businesses in Waterfront Park. LaFave said business owners know that signs can be placed only on their own property, and that signs set up in other locations may be confiscated.
