Rock Man Dead in ATV Mishap

A Delta County man died Saturday after his ATV rolled over on his own property near Rock.

84-year-old Charles Edward Dedic was apparently riding alone on his side-by-side when he lost control. He was thrown face down into a water hole, and the ATV landed on top of him.

Dedic’s son found him about 30 minutes later, and called for help. Two Department of Natural Resources officers were the first on the scene. They began resuscitation attempts.

When first responders arrived, a DNR truck was used to bring Dedic across rough terrain to a waiting ambulance. Resuscitation attempts were ultimately unsuccessful.
