NMU Sets Up Alumni Network

Northern Michigan University wants its graduates to be able to provide more help to its students.

The new Alumni Resource Network is a joint effort by the Career Services and Alumni Relations offices. The goal is to put students in touch with professionals who can answer questions and provide advice about their chosen careers.

NMU Career Services Director Katie Korpi anticipates grads playing roles that range from answering a few quick questions, to providing ongoing mentorship and internship opportunities.

About 70 alums have signed up for the pilot phase of the program, and will help work out details before the network is fully rolled out.
