Michigamme Residents Fight for Tiny Park

Some Michigamme residents are concerned about the future of a small park.

The 1,625-square-foot parcel is located at the lake’s edge, and has been public property for nearly 150 years. An individual who recently purchased adjoining property has inquired about purchasing it, and Michigamme Township officials are considering it.

Members of the new group Save Our Pocket Park spoke at last night’s township board meeting. The board offered no response, and Township Supervisor William Seppanen said the investigation into a potential sale will continue.
