A 21-year-old Illinois man escaped injury when his car missed a turn, skidded off Canal Road, landed in a ditch and caught fire.
Houghton County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the scene near the Firehall Road intersection just after 12:00 this morning.
The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, and is being held in the Houghton County jail.
