Time is ticking down in this year’s Keweenaw Natural Areas fundraising raffle.
The winner gets a 2019 Subaru CrossTrek, along with enough cash to cover the sales tax, license, and income tax obligation. There are several cash runner-up prizes.
200 tickets remain out of the original pool of 1,000. They cost $100.
John Griffith of the KNA tells us the money will be used to help pay for some land that has already been purchased for public use…
Some will go toward the next planned purchase that they’re calling “The Missing Link.”
The KNA needs $1.4 million by the end of next year to close on that property. Griffith says they’ve received some grant money to help out, and also have several sponsorship plans in place to entice donors.
Tickets in the current raffle can be purchased at the Ahmeek Streetcar Station between noon and 8:00, or by calling 370-90221. The drawing will take place Monday.
