ATLANTIC MINE
Carmyn T. Turner, 88, of Atlantic Mine, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, September 20, 2019, at Canal View Houghton County.
She was born April 10, 1931, in Lake Linden, a daughter of the late Eli and Leone (Francis) Pelland, and was a graduate of the Lake Linden High School.
Carmyn was married on November 25, 1950, at Holy Rosary to the late Albert “AL” Turner. He preceded her in death May 22, 1996.
Carmyn was a member of St Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church of Houghton. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. Carmyn enjoyed crocheting, knitting, building puzzles, playing cards, reading, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children Larry, Paul (Sheri), Pam Shahnaz, and Gina (Mark Carver); daughter, in law Mary Turner; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband, Carmyn was also preceded in death by infant daughter, Patrice; son, Don Turner; son-in-law, Rodney Mattila; two brothers, Clarence and Francis; and a sister, Oresta Beaudry.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2019, at St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Houghton, with Fr. John Martignon as celebrant. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial to St. Ignatius Loyola Church in the name of Carmyn T. Turner.
