Finlandia University has named a new campus pastor.
Sarah Semmler Smith comes to campus after spending the past six years as an associate pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Semmler Smith grew up in New London, Minnesota. She holds a BA in religious studies from St. Olaf College, and a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago. FinnU President Philip Johnson calls her “theologically astute, pastorally wise and fun.”
She’ll be installed as part of Finlandia’s By Faith community worship honoring the Suomi Seminary at 11:00 am on September 22nd at the Chapel of St. Matthew.
