This year’s honorees are (as received from the Lake Linden-Hubbell Athletic Department):

Harry Anderle, Coach 1929-1938

He coached football at Lake Linden-Hubbell from 1929-1937, and basketball from 1929-1938. He had an undefeated grid team in 1933. His basketball teams were Conference champions in 1932, 1933, 1934 and 1937, District champions in 1930, 1932, 1933, 1934, 1937 and 1938, Regional champions in 1932, U.P. State Champion in 1932 and U.P. State Runners-Up in 1938. He went on to successful coaching careers at Marinette and Port Huron. Coach Anderle was enshrined in the U.P Sports Hall of Fame in 1977 and inducted into the Port Huron Sports Hall of Fame in 1982.

Lois Codere, Coach/Contributor 1974-2012

Lois Codere was the first female basketball coach at Lake Linden-Hubbell. She coached JV girls basketball for 23 seasons from 1974-1996. She finished with a cumulative record of 306 wins and 131 losses. This includes having 3 undefeated seasons in 1978, 1980 and 1982 and 5 other seasons where her team lost 3 games or fewer. Just like the math students she taught, her players worked hard and were very disciplined. Wanting to stay involved during the boys’ basketball season, Lois became the official scorer for the boys’ games in 1975, a position she took great pride in and held for 37 years. She was a very familiar face at the scorers’ table for many visiting coaches and officials during that time. Lois taught high school and middle school math at Lake Linden-Hubbell from 1968-2003.
