Tigers Strike Out Against KC – Sunday Sports Wrap

MLB

The Detroit Tigers struck out 14 times, and lost to the Kansas City Royals 7-0 yesterday. Spencer Turnbull kept Detroit in the game, allowing two runs over six innings. KC added five runs over the final three innings to put the game away.

The Tigers wrap up that home set against the Royals this afternoon. Daniel Norris will start against Jakob Junis. Pregame coverage will begin at 5:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

Detroit will finish the season without centerfielder JaCoby Jones. Jones was hit on the hand by a pitch in Thursday’s game. What was originally believed to be a bad bruise has now been diagnosed as a broken wrist.

The Milwaukee Brewers won their fifth straight game last night, edging the Texas Rangers 3-2. Adrian Houser gave up a run over six innings. Keston Hiura homered.

The Brewers will host the Rangers again tonight. Jordn Lyles will start against Mike Minor.

NFL

The Detroit Lions have signed journeyman quarterback Josh Johnson. He’ll fill in for backup Tom Savage, who suffered a concussion in Thursday’s loss to the Patriots. Detroit becomes the 13th NFL team Johnson has played for.
