Hancock: Charles Nels “Chuck” Juntunen, 71, formerly of Hancock, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at his residence at Hubbell Haven in Hubbell, Michigan.
He was born on August 1, 1947 in Hancock to the late Nels and Ruth (Sincock) Juntunen. He was a 1966 graduate of Hancock High School. Chuck was employed at the Copper Range Railroad and also for the City of Hancock at Lakeside Cemetery in his earlier years.
Chuck was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hancock. His interests included sports, history, and walking.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Filmore Halonen, and a nephew, Steven Halonen.
He is survived by his sister, Karen “Connie” Halonen of Hancock, a niece, Susan (Gordon) Grigg of Ishpeming, a nephew, Eric (Barbara) Halonen of Hancock, and by cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the O’Neill-Dennis Funeral Home in Hancock with Reverend Scott Lindenberg to officiate. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Hubbell Haven and the staff and volunteers of Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly, who were a special part of Chuck’s life.
