Special Army Simulator Vehicle Appearing At Houghton County Fair

The US Army will have a special vehicle on hand at this year’s Houghton County Fair for the public to enjoy.

It’s an adventure semi-truck featuring a CROW’s simulation system which is utilized for remote controlled weaponry.  There will also be an M-9 laser shot simulation, XM-25 Grenade simulation, thermal scopes, and an Army robot.

Staff Sergeant Gabriel Rodriguez, Jr. says the vehicle will provide a hands-on experience for the public.  “The CROW system is one of the simulators that we have that we mount a weapon on it and they’ll be able to move it around,” said SSG Rodriguez.   “They have a grenade launcher simulator that they’ll actually be able to use and then other simulators that are attached to it that they can go and experience the entire thing just how we would in the military.”

The vehicle is just one of the attractions being hosted by the Army at the fair.  Rodriguez said, “We’ll have the football toss, like we had last year, basketball toss, pull-up competition. We’ll also have a giveaway. We’re trying to do a Nintendo Switch currently, so we’re just trying to have the entire community out there. We’ll also have the corn hole. Everything’s free, nothing’s charged, so everybody’s more than welcome to come and see it.”

The Houghton County Fair is held at the fairgrounds in Hancock and takes place August 22nd-25th.
