Civil War Reenactment Group Returns To Fort Wilkins

History comes alive at Fort Wilkins for the 35th year as Battery D, 1st Michigan Light Artillery, a Civil War era living history group returns for an encampment interpreting army life of the period.

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 26th through the 28th, the group will be demonstrating artillery and small arms drills, period cooking, and soldiers’ pastimes.

If you like cannons, Battery D will be bringing 10LB Parrot Rifles.

Programs will be presented Friday and Saturday (July 26th & 27th) from 8:00am to 8:00pm and Sunday (July 28th) from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Guests need a Michigan Recreation Passport for entry into the Fort Wilkins Historic State Park in Copper Harbor.
