Jahfetson Reigns at Lumberjack Days

Good weather encouraged a good turnout at Independence Day parades and celebrations across the Copper Country for most of yesterday, although a line of showers and storms dampened some evening activities. Parades in Lake Linden, Hubbell, Dollar Bay, South Range and Baraga were well attended. At the Baraga County Lumberjack Days Festival, Martina Jahfetson reigned as queen. She is the daughter of Dawn and Steve Jahfetson, and graduated from Baraga High School this spring. Erin Younggren was named first runner-up. She also graduated from Baraga this spring. Alexis Niswonger was the second runner-up – she’s entering her senior year as a home-schooled student. Jailyn Shelifoe was named Miss Congeniality. She is a recent L’Anse High School graduate.
