Calumet – William J. “Billy” Curto passed away on Saturday June 22 at his home after a battle with throat cancer.
He was born September 22, 1957 in Laurium, a son of John and Grace (Harvey) Curto. Billy was a graduate of Calumet High School Class of 1976. He worked for the Columbia Laundry, Thurner’s Bakery and McCabe Distributing as a delivery driver. He also served in the Michigan National Guard. He enjoyed playing in Frisbee tournaments and shooting pool. He was a Detroit Lions and Boston Celtics fan.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, mother and father, a brother John, niece Gina and many aunts and uncles.
Surviving are two sons, Jared (April) and Blake (Alicia), both of Negaunee. Also surviving are three brothers, Peter of Lake Linden, Paul and Michael of Calumet, four grandchildren, one niece, three nephews, special aunt Eleanor Gasparovich, and a few cousins.
Family services will be held this summer. Ryan Funeral Home is serving the family.
