Aspirus Welcomes New U.P. Regional President

The following press release was issued by Aspirus:

UPPER PENINSULA, Mich. – Aspirus has hired Christine Harff, JD, MBA, BSN, as the Aspirus Upper Peninsula Regional President, effective June 24. In this role, Harff will be responsible for leading strategic direction and growth, aligning Aspirus’ regional hospitals and clinics, and overseeing operations throughout the Upper Peninsula.

Harff brings 25 years of progressive health care leadership experience in hospital operations, project management, and business development across small facilities as well as large, complex hospitals systems. She is currently serving as Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care for Tri County Health Care in Wadena, Minnesota.

“I believe Christine will provide tremendous leadership and vision as Aspirus continues to grow and improve to provide the best care to the communities we serve,” said Matt Heywood, Aspirus President and CEO. “I’m excited she has chosen to join our team.”

Among her career accomplishments, Harff spent more than four years with Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, part of the larger Trinity Health System based in Michigan. She was Vice President of Network Development/Orthopedic Service Line for Mercy, a $400 million system with eight critical access hospitals.

“It is so important to have a visible leader to build culture and synergy across multiple hospitals,” Harff said. “It takes a solid understanding and demonstrated skills to guide the financial pieces of running a healthcare operation.”

Harff looks forward to assuming her new role with Aspirus, to continue to provide the best value to those who choose us. She said she and her husband, Rick, are thrilled to relocate to the U.P. where the “geography is easy to embrace.”
