The Detroit Tigers’ late comeback fell short, as they lost 7-4 to the Atlanta Braves yesterday. The Tigers trailed 3-0 after seven innings. They tied the game in the top of the eighth with homers by Grayson Greiner and JaCoby Jones, but Atlanta scored four times off Joe Jiménez and Blaine Hardy in the bottom of the inning to put the game away. Christin Stewart’s ninth-inning home run narrowed the gap a little.
The Tigers have today off, and host the Tampa Bay Rays tomorrow. Ryan Carpenter will start against Blake Snell. Pregame coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
Zach Davies turned in eight strong innings, as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-2 yesterday. Eric Thames homered.
The Brewers are also off today, and host the Miami Marlins tomorrow night. Chase Anderson will pitch against Pablo Lopez.
The Major League Baseball Draft begins with the first two rounds tonight. Detroit has the fifth and 47th picks. Milwaukee will pick 28th and 65th.
NHL
The Boston Bruins will visit the Saint Louis Blues for game four of the Stanley Cup championship series tonight. Boston leads the series 2-1.
NBA
The Golden State Warriors defeated the Toronto Raptors 109-104 last night, to even the NBA Championship Series at one win per team. Game three will be played Wednesday in Oakland.
