The following press release was issued by Aspirus:
ONTONAGON, Mich. – Screenings are an important part of keeping yourself healthy. They can detect disease when it’s most treatable to help prevent serious problems later in life. For that reason, the Aspirus Ontonagon Family Practice Clinic is hosting a special Women’s Health Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Thursday, May 30.
If it’s time for your annual visit, make an appointment today with Aspirus Women’s Health Specialist Cindy Beale, CNM, APNP, for a cervical cancer screening and breast exam. Call 906-884-8240 for more information, or to schedule an appointment. A second Women’s Health Day is scheduled for June 27.
Most cervical cancers start with precancerous changes that gradually turn into cancer. Screening can find these abnormal changes, which can be treated and stop cancer from developing.
A dietitian will also be on hand during Women’s Health Day at the Aspirus Ontonagon Family Practice Clinic, located at 601 South 7th Street in Ontonagon. Learn about healthy eating and other Aspirus services that help you live your best life.
