Obituary: Kenneth LaCasse

Kenneth LaCasse, 87, former resident of Lake Linden, passed away at his home in Marquette on April 30, 2019.

He was born on March 30, 1932, in Lake Linden, a son of Roland and Isabelle (LeBlanc) LaCasse.  He was very close to his parents.

Ken worked the farm, construction, and as an Iron Worker to support his family.  He was very proud that he always worked.

His faith was very important to him.  He prayed every day and he regularly attended church.  He supported Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Ken was a very active person.  He enjoyed kayaking, hiking, snow shoveling, gardening, old country music, singing, dancing, and animals, especially horses.  He loved the Montreal Canadians hockey team.  More than anything, he loved time with family, especially grandkids.

He was married to the love of his life, Mary Franks on June 11, 1955.  He was a loving and devoted husband.  They were married for 43 years when she passed away on October 12, 1998.  Ken was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters-Nancy Draggoo and Shirley Mae.

He is survived by: two children-Margaret “Peggy” (Norbert) Miller of Lake Linden and Dawson (Wendy [Westman]) LaCasse of Avon Lake, OH; 4 grandchildren that lovingly called him “Pip”-Bryan (Addie) Miller, Erik (Shanda) Miller, Jennifer (Tim) Niedzwiecki, and Austin LaCasse; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother-Clifford (Lucinda) LaCasse; an uncle; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Father Joseph Boakye-Yiadom to officiate.  There will be no public visitation.  The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
