2014 Treat Street

Tomorrow night, the Halloween season kicks off in Houghton with the annual Treat Street, taking place throughout the downtown area. This is the sixth installment of the event and the turnout is expected to reach close to 2000 trick-or-treaters. Lieutenant Nick Roberts of the Houghton Police Department says it’s one of the most popular events of the year.

The event is also assisting the canned food drives at Houghton and Hancock High Schools and Roberts says it would be great for each person to bring one can with them to Treat Street.

Tickets to the Sigmi Pi Haunted Houses next weekend will also be on sale. The money raised will support the Pigs ‘n’ Heat Fund as well as DDIY, which helps people dealing with medical emergencies. The fun starts at 6:30.
