Keweenaw Community Foundation Celebrates 25 Years

The Keweenaw Community Foundation is celebrating their silver anniversary with a special event to thank those who have supported their mission over the last 25 years.

The 25th Anniversary Celebration will be held Saturday, April 13th at the Miscowaubik Club in Calumet from 5:00-9:00pm.

Executive Director Jim Vivian says the foundation has over 100 different funds that support all aspects of the community. “There has been millions of dollars that have been put back into our community from the donations that our donors have brought to the foundation to better the community,” said Vivian.

The Keweenaw Community Foundation will also be recognizing those individuals who have a had a positive influence on the community.

“The Volunteer of the Year Award is one of them,” said Vivian. “Another (Community Impact Award) is individuals that have made a sizable contribution in time, talent, or treasure to our community and another is the (Martha and Floyd) Hearts and Hands—people that have put their hearts into helping our community without looking for recognition.”

There are several Celebration Sponsorship Levels available for local businesses and institutions as well. They are—

  • $5,000 GOLD (Includes 8 tickets)
  • $2,500 SILVER (Includes 6 tickets)
  • $1,000 BRONZE (Includes 4 tickets)
  • $500 COPPER (Includes 2 tickets)

Tickets for this event are $75 with a portion of the ticket price eligible as a tax deductible charitable contribution. The event will be catered with a cocktail hour between 5:00–6:00 PM and live music throughout the dinner service. It is always a special evening with many community members from across the Keweenaw coming together to celebrate, enjoy good food and company, and help raise funds for our community foundation.

All proceeds raised during this event will go towards promoting the foundation’s mission to inspire giving that invests in our community’s quality of life.

Those interested in attending can RSVP by visiting calling the KCF office at (906) 482-9673 or emailing mail@k-c-f.org. If your business would like to sponsor this event, please call the Keweenaw Community Foundation for more information.
