Hancock parks could be on their way to getting help for improvements and renovations. Last night, the Hancock City Council approved to establish the Parks and Recreation Expansion Fund through the Keweenaw Community Foundation. The council allocated $10,000 from the budget to the endowment which will be used to preserve and protect the city’s parks, trails, beach and campgrounds. City Manager Glenn Anderson says there is also another endowment being established for community members who would like to get involved.
Discussion on approval of the endowment fund agreement with the Keweenaw Community Foundation was tabled to clarify some of the wording in the agreement.
