UPEC Holding Video Contest

The following press release was issued by UPEC:

The Upper Peninsula Environmental Coalition (UPEC) is seeking entries for its video contest.

Consider what makes the UP environment special to you. Take us on a tour of your most loved location. Show us highlights from your favorite outdoor sport. If you have a talent for music or poetry, show us how our natural environment can enhance artistic expression. If you’re a storyteller, write a short play that takes place in the woods. If you’re a comedian, find the perfect natural stage for your best work.

You don’t need to have a professional camera or previous experience to participate. Access to a smartphone camera and a little creativity is plenty to participate. If you can capture even one minute that could make an impact on people and show them the UP in a new light, you could win! Imagine a family watching your video and setting off on a new adventure together because of what they see. If you’re in the UP, you’re already in one of the best places in the world to make a video. Try it today and share it with us.

Win up to $100. Shoot a video three minutes or less highlighting the UP environment. Upload to YouTube and send a link with your name to upec@upenvironment.org by Feb. 28. Include your age if you are under 18. Top picks in youth and adult categories will show at Celebrate the UP! March 29-30 in Marquette.
