CALUMET
Elma E. Anderson, 93, a former Calumet resident, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock, where she had been a patient for the past 4 ½ years.
She was born on December 30, 1925, in Hancock, a daughter of the late Seth and Tillie (Line) Beckman, and was a 1945 graduate of the Calumet High School.
Elma married George Anderson on August 13, 1983. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2010.
Elma was employed for 15 years at Columbia Laundry in Calumet.
In her younger years, Elma took many trips downstate on the Greyhound bus to visit with family. She enjoyed listening to old country music, working crossword puzzles and going to the casino with her sister.
Elma is survived by her children, Janet Seltmann of South Range, Sandy (Rich) Altz of Arnheim, Chris Camp of Tennessee, Michael Aho of Kentucky; two step-sons, Ken (Lynn) Anderson of Champion, and Tom (Marsha) Anderson of Georgia; a special granddaughter, Amy Perfetti, as well as her loving grandchildren, Michael Perfetti, Aaron Altz, Jesse Ronken and Brittany Aho; two great-grandchildren, Dawson and Ella Ronken; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband, Elma was also preceded in death by a grandson, Cameron Ronken; a sister, Sylvia Korpijarvi; and a brother-in-law, Jack Anderson.
The family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility for the wonderful care Elma received.
