The Lakes’ winning drive started when Blake Dupuis intercepted a Ben Collaer pass. Lake Linden opened the scoring after Houghton fumbled the opening kickoff, giving the ball to the Lakes on the Gremlins’ 24 yard line.  Lyons completed the short drive with a six-yard run. Houghton responded in the second quarter, as Collaer ran in from seven yards out. Lake Linden retook the lead with seven seconds remaining in the first half, as Lyons found Lucas Klein deep in the endzone with a five-yard pass. Houghton took the lead in the third quarter on a four-yard Collaer run. The Gremlins were driving again, and taking time off the clock when Collaer misfired, giving the Lakes one more chance. Lake Linden’s game-winning drive featured two successful fourth down conversions. The winning touchdown was set up when Lyons hit Brendan Middleton with a 24-yard pass at the Houghton five yard line. The win locked up a playoff berth for the Lakes, who are 6-1 overall. Lake Linden will host North Dickinson next Saturday afternoon.
