Post Road, Lake Linden: Dorothy “Dotti” Baril, 75, of Post Road, Lake Linden, passed away unexpectedly at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital on January 12, 2019.
She was born on September 2, 1943 in San Francisco, CA, a daughter of Byron and Juanita (Powell) O’Neill. She received a degree in accounting from Suomi College. She worked for Goodell Oil, Brown Auto, Maki Oil, Manderfield Heat and Electric, Ventures, and Michigan Tech until her retirement.
She was married to David Baril, the love of her life, for 37 years.
Dotti enjoyed crafting and was a member of a crafting group. She liked knitting, Sudoku’s, cross word puzzles, and adult coloring books. She had been a dog breeder of Dachshunds and American Eskimos. She was a phenomenal mother and grandmother. She helped others and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by: her-husband-David; 5 children-Marjorie (Joseph) Banovetz of Laurium, Deborah (Jake Kivela) Goodell of Tamarack, Donald Goodell of Lake Linden, Michelle (Mike) Kinnunen of Chassell, and Jessica Baril-Meier of Denver, CO; grandchildren-Jordan, Ricky, Sara, Kayla, Camren, Donald Jr., Ivy, Isiah, Devin, and Hunter; brothers-George McKay and Byron “Butch” O’Neill; special family friend-Karen Goodell; along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Private family services will be held in the Spring. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
Donations, in memory of Dorothy “Dotti” Baril, may be made to the Humane Society or to Disabled Veterans.
