The unofficial results of this weekend’s Keweenaw Bay Indian Community general election are in.
In the Baraga District, the top two vote getters for the Tribal Council were Warren “Chris” Swartz, Jr. with 274 and Kim Klopstein with 260. Elizabeth “Beth” Conner received 253 votes and Sue Ellen “Suzie” Elmblad got 237.
In the L’Anse District, Dale F. Goodreau led the way with 309 votes, followed by Susan J. LaFernier with 253. Jean (Halverson) Jokinen received 251 and Jennifer Misegan received 214.
The top two from each district will serve on the council.
In the race for Chief Judge, Bill Jondreau received 300 votes with Bradley T. Dakota getting 229 votes.
