Obituary: Mark E. Kuure

Hancock

Graveside services for Mark E. Kuure, 56, a former resident of Hancock who passed away November 23, 2018, at the DJ Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette will be held 1:00 pm Friday, June 28, 2019, in the Askel Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Copper Country Veteran’s Association.

Hancock

Mark E. Kuure, 56, a former resident of Hancock passed Friday, November 23, 2018, at the DJ Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette, where he had been a resident for the past three years.

He was born on March 15, 1962, in Warren, MI a son of the late Eino and Vilma (Tauriainen) Kuure. Mark was raised in Houghton and was a graduate of the Houghton High School.

Mr. Kuure was a veteran having served with the United States Navy. He had resided in different parts of the Copper Country and Minnesota while working various jobs until his health problems would no longer allow him to work.

Mark loved to cook. He loved movies, everything from Hollywood classics to the latest releases, and he always won the “Pop Culture” questions on Trivial Pursuit. He enjoyed big-city life and Minneapolis, though he remained a fan of the Green Bay Packers. He dearly valued family and friends, and his humor made every gathering a memorable one.

Surviving are:

His sister & brothers: Jean Wanttaja of Ishpeming
David (Mary) Kuure of Traverse City
Kurt (Julie) Kuure of Houghton
Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service for Mark will be held later in the Spring in the Askel Cemetery.
