Obituary: Clarence C. “Chum” Darcy

Clarence C. “Chum” Darcy, age 55, of Baraga, MI passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse, Michigan, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in L’Anse, MI on March 28, 1963 the son of the late Charles and Doris M. (Grant) Darcy. Chum graduated from Baraga High School. He married the former Callie Perry in Baraga on August 7, 1999. Chum had worked at Selkey Manufacturing as a welder until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, camping and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Chum is survived by his loving wife, Callie, children Dustin Schjoth of Baraga, Katie Schjoth (Nate Jurmu) of Baraga and Zachary Darcy (Courtney Mayo) of Baraga, brothers Gene (Marilyn) Ross of Baraga, Patrick (Cheryl) Darcy of Baraga and sister Carol (Robert) Carlson of Baraga, and mother-in-law Linda (Howard) Perry of Chassell. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive along with his dog “Rylee. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial funeral service for Chum will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Pastor Julie Belew officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the memorial funeral service. Immediately following the service, the family invites friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon in the Harrington Gathering Room, located at the funeral chapel.
