Houghton High School Grad Running For Charity

A former Houghton High School graduate is taking part in the Boston Marathon.

Now a sophomore at Boston College, Nick Wilson was featured in the school’s newsletter as he prepares to run in the event to raise money for charity.  He is raising money for the American Red Cross and has set a goal of $10,000 to aid their humanitarian and natural disaster aid work.

The American Red Cross was one of the first agencies to provide aid to the Houghton area after the Father’s Day Flood.  They also provide disaster relief, education programs, a lifesaving blood supply, and many other charitable programs that help people suffering from personal tragedies and natural disasters all over the country and world.

Wilson has set up a Facebook page called Nick’s Team Red Cross to help in his effort to raise money.
