Finnish Energy Experts To Talk About Biomass

Two Finnish energy experts are coming to the Copper Country.

One is the CEO of a factory in Finland that builds extremely efficient biomass generators, and the other is a researcher at Finland’s BioEconomy Center.

They will be part of the Energy Meet-UP next Friday at the Finnish American Heritage Center.

There will also be an expert in crowd-equity financing who will give an entry-level introduction to how this process can work to the advantage of local businesses.

It’s called LocalVesting, or Main Street not Wall Street.

To start things off, State Representative Scott Dianda will be bringing everyone up to speed on developments in energy legislation downstate.

Admission is $25 and advanced registration is required.

Markku has 30 years’ experience in forestry and bioenergy-related development work and business through a research center, a science park, an innovation center and a university of applied sciences. He has developed and managed over 50 local bioenergy development projects, both international and national, and has both developed and managed regional bioenergy and business development strategies.

Representative Scott Dianda
Michigan State Legislature
Representative Dianda has worked his political tenure on many issues, but U.P. energy issues have alwaysplayed a central role in his effort. This summer he is working to pass an Energy Freedom Bill Package which would remove regulatory barriers to renewable energyinvestments. The bills would remove arbitrary generation caps, ensure fair pricing, allow renewable generation during outages, and enable investment in community energy projects. He will unpack this information for business owners, residents and municipalities.
