The Finlandia women’s soccer team lost 9-0 at Northern Michigan University last night.

The Finlandia men’s soccer team visits Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa, this afternoon.

MLB
The Houston Astros scored four runs in the fifth inning, and held on to defeat the Detroit Tigers 5-4 yesterday. Daniel Norris gave up a run in the third, then left as Houston took the lead in the fifth. James McCann and Nicholas Castellanos homered for Detroit.

The Tigers have today off, and open a series at Cleveland tomorrow night. Matthew Boyd will start against Josh Tomlin. Pregame coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

Detroit infielder Niko Goodrum left yesterday’s game after colliding with Christin Stewart in the outfield. He suffered a deep bruise on his thigh, and will probably miss a couple of games.

The Milwaukee Brewers closed the gap in the National League Central race to one game, with a 5-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs last night. The game was closer than the score would indicate – the Crew scored three times in the ninth inning to put it away. Curtis Granderson singled, tripled, homered, and scored three runs.

The Brewers also have today off, and begin a home set against the Pittsburgh Pirates tomorrow evening. Gio Gonzalez will pitch against Chris Archer.

NFL
In tonight’s NFL game, the Ravens visit the Bengals. Hear the broadcast on 99.3 The Lift. Please have your picks in The Wolf Pro Football Challenge turned in by noon today at one of our sponsors.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers says the knee injury he suffered in Sunday night’s victory over the Chicago Bears is a sprain. He’s hopeful he’ll be able to play against the Vikings this Sunday, but he did not practice yesterday, and is considered day-to-day.

Detroit Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah had an MRI on the shoulder he injured during Monday’s loss to the Jets. It showed no structural damage, and he may be able to play Sunday against the 49ers.

Our high school football coverage continues tomorrow evening, as Houghton entertains Lake Linden-Hubbell at Sherman Field. The pregame show will begin around 6:40 on KBear 102.3, KBear102.com, and the free KBear Apple and Android apps.
