MLB
The Detroit Tigers’ late comeback fell short, as they dropped a 4-3 decision to the Minnesota Twins last night. Detroit took an early lead on a James McCann RBI single in the second inning. Minnesota tied it in the third, then took the lead with two in the fifth of Francisco Liriano, who took the loss. Reliever Zach McAllister gave up the final run in the sixth. Niko Gooodrum’s two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth closed the gap, but the Tigers couldn’t complete the comeback.

The Tigers wrap up that home series against the Twins today. Matthew Boyd will start against Kohl Stewart. Pregame coverage begins at 12:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Milwaukee Brewers scored three runs in the eighth inning, and secured a 4-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves last evening. The outburst came after Ryan Braun made a spectacular diving catch in the outfield to snuff out a potential Atlanta rally in the seventh. The big hit was a two-run double by Mike Moustakas. Milwaukee starter Wade Miley gave up two runs over six innings. Corbin Burnes got the win in relief, and Josh Hader earned a two-inning save.

The Brewers wrap up that series at Atlanta today. Chase Anderson will pitch against Sean Newcomb.

Milwaukee added a fresh arm to their bullpen before the game, bringing Aaron Wilkerson up from Colorado Springs, and sending Adrian Houser down.

Superior National Bank-Stanton faces Wolverine-Orbit in the finals of the Copper Country Twilight League tournament this week. Game one begins Tuesday at 6:30. Hear all of the games on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com.
