Team Rubicon has joined in the effort to restore Houghton County after many areas were devastated by last weekend’s storm.
Team Rubicon is a group of veterans with expertise in disaster relief and they are lending their logistical skills to the local volunteer effort.
Marquette resident Lynn Nelson said her organization is here to help their Upper Peninsula neighbors.
Nelson said, “So we are here for Operation Copper Husky and we have teams coming in from all over the Midwest to help with the spontaneous volunteer management, damage assessments. We also will have boots on the ground doing muck-outs and debris removal and Sawyer teams coming in with all their equipment and trailers.”
Team Rubicon also set up a remote operation so members of their organization from across the nation can log into and help manage work orders coming in through 211.
