UPPCO Addressing Power Outages Related To Storm

Marquette – Upper Peninsula Power Company (UPPCO) crews responded to the devastating aftermath of the intense storms that passed through the Upper Peninsula early Sunday morning.
“Our crews worked throughout the day and into the night to address unsafe conditions and restore service to our customers,” said Brett French, Vice-President of Business Development and Communications. “As road conditions improve, we are continuing our restoration efforts and greatly appreciate everyone’s patience as we complete our work. UPPCO would like to take time to recognize everyone that came together to assist our crews and the community in responding to the storm.”

UPPCO is encouraging people to report all downed electric power lines or unsafe conditions that may have resulted from the intense storms that hit early Sunday morning. “People should never approach or make contact with any utility equipment,” said French. “Customers who are still experiencing an outage or are aware of any downed power lines or unsafe conditions are being asked to call our Customer Contact Center in Ishpeming at (800) 562-7809 or (906) 449-2011.”
