25th Annual Parade of Nations

This week, Michigan Tech along with Finlandia University are celebrating their wide-ranging diversity during the 25th annual Parade of Nations. The event was created to commemorate the international outreach that these institutions have, with students coming from places like India and China. The parade will begin Saturday morning at 11 o’clock in front of Finlandia, followed by the Multicultural Festival which will take place at Dee Stadium. Darnishia Slade, Interim Director for MTU’s International Programs and Services says creating an event like this seemed like a no-brainer.

Also as part of the festivities, Arun Gandhi, grandson of civil rights activist Mahatma Gandhi, will speak tonight at the Rozsa Center about what he learned from his grandfather’s experiences. The event begins at 7:30 and is free to the public.
