The Michigan Department of Transportation is looking for volunteers in the Upper Peninsula to report on winter driving conditions. M-DOT says the new Road Watchers program will give motorists a chance to tell them how well it’s maintaining highways in the U.P. this winter. Road Watcher volunteers will occasionally be asked by e-mail to complete a short online survey about roads on some of the U.P.’s key routes with special emphasis on the U-S and M-designated highways. M-DOT is hoping the program will improve winter road maintenance.
