Voters in the Calumet-Laurium-Keweenaw School District will decide the fate of a bond proposal for the school in August.
The district is asking for an increase of 1.98 mills. The funds generated would be used to improve security at the school as well as fix and maintain the aging infrastructure of the buildings.
Other improvements would include adding an elementary school gymnasium, renovations to the athletic complex at Agassiz Field and updating the school’s technology for better education. A Fabrication Lab for the high school would also be built.
CLK Schools have started a fundraising campaign in addition to the bond proposal. Voting will take place on August 7th.
Details on the bond proposal can be found on the CLK School District website.
