Kerry Dale Johnson, age 52 of Arlington, Washington was pronounced dead at his home on April 29, 2018 do to natural causes.
He was born August 13, 1965 in L’Anse, MI son of Dale Johnson and Bette (Falk) Gabe. Kerry attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from L’Anse High School in 1983. He joined the Navy and after his discharge in 1989, he went to work at General Dynamics in San Diego, CA, as an aviation electrician. His last 23 years of employment were in this same capacity at Boeing in Everett, WA. Kerry was very proud of his home and 7 acres of property. At one time, he utilized his acreage to raise a few beef cattle and laying chickens.
Kerry loved the outdoors: snowmobiling, jet skiing, cutting firewood, camping with his motor home, and just generally hanging out with friends. He remained loyal to the Green Bay Packers even amongst all his Seahawk supporting buddies. He was very competitive in playing horseshoes, pool, and darts. Kerry thoroughly enjoyed life and prided himself in having the biggest, fastest, “baddest” toys!
Kerry is survived by his parents, Joseph and Bette Gabe of Skanee, and Dale Johnson of Milwaukee; grandmother, Betty Johnson of L’Anse; step-brothers, Joseph Gabe,Jr (Laura) of Pulaski, WI, Dale Johnson and Jason Johnson of WI, Jared Johnson of FL; step-sister, Christie Englebert (Jay) of Green Bay, WI; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his new best buddy, Cubby, a black lab.
Preceding Kerry in death were his grandparents, Emmett Johnson and Pavo and Sylvia Falk, and his last best buddy, Sire, another black lab.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 18th from 10-11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. A funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. Burial will be in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery with Baraga County Area Veterans conducting military rites at 12:00 p.m. under the direction of American Legion Post 444. A luncheon will follow the burial in the church hall. The Jacobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
