The period to complete the acquisition of the White Pine project has been extended once again.
The new date for Highland Copper Company to acquire the site from Copper Range Company has been pushed back to August 31st.
Highland says the final closing of the acquisition is subject to releasing Copper Range from certain environmental obligations associated with the remediation and closure plan of the historical White Pine mine.
It also involves replacing the related environmental bond posted by Copper Range.
The transfer of the environmental obligations to the Highland Copper is subject to final approval of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
