JROTC Program seeking new home.

While the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps program will no longer be held at Hancock Public Schools, the future remains uncertain for Keweenaw Cadets enrolled in the program. The school board recently voted to drop the program after reviewing the financial strain it places on the district.

The district will continue the program through the end of the school year. Meanwhile, course instructors Major John Sullivan and Sergeant Randall Meyer are seeking a new local home for the program. If all goes well, JROTC would be offered at another local school at the start of the school year in the upcoming fall.
