Alcohol Awareness Meme Showcased At National Conference

A member of the Baraga County Communities That Care and his children are the recipients of a “Noteworthy Entry” in the 2017 Social Media competition for “Know More Before You Pour.”

Eric DeMink and his children Clare (C.J.) and Jaden entered a meme into the competition, hosted by Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.

The winning entries were showcased at their national conference held in Washington D.C. in January 2018.

Baraga County CTC is a community based prevention coalition targeting the youth in our area to help guide healthy choices.

With April being Alcohol Awareness Month, this winning meme helps to shed light on the coalition and the work they are doing along with bringing National recognition to the L’Anse area.

Baraga County CTC says they are proud of Eric and his family for this accomplishment and their hope is that this positive message of Alcohol Awareness will be a stepping stone towards creating open and honest discussion about alcohol use.
