You won’t need your snow shoes to take part in this weekend’s Sisu Shuffle.
The annual 5K run and walk takes place this Saturday at 11am, beginning at UP Health System—Portage in Hancock.
This is a fun, family event that is not timed it’s free to participate.
Health and Fitness Manager Angela Luskin says they do have a backup plan because of the recent weather. “Typically on the Sisu Shuffle, we can part of the snowmobile trail and just do one 5K loop, but because of the conditions, we won’t be using the snowmobile trail this year, so we do laps around by the hospital. We start on Portage Street, we go to Ingot Street, Elevation Street and Campus Street, and then we do that twice,” said Luskin.
There is no charge, but registration is required, which can be done online or by showing up about a half hour before the event on Saturday.
