Obituary: Jack Robert Wetton

Lake Linden: Jack Robert Wetton, 12, of Lake Linden, passed away at UP Health System Portage after complications from a brief illness on April 8, 2018.

He was born in Escanaba on September 5, 2005 a son of Scott and Kathy (Loukus) Wetton.

Jack attended Lake Linden-Hubbell Public Schools beginning in Preschool. He was currently a student in 7th grade. He was a member of the school band, where he played the trombone. He exceled in the school geography and spelling bees.

Jack loved spending time in Bootjack, especially swimming, tubing, jet-skiing, and boating. He enjoyed downhill skiing, golf, Legos, coding, Star Wars, and playing the guitar.

He was preceded in death by grandpas-Robert Wetton and John “Jack” Loukus.

He is survived by: parents-Scott and Kathy of Lake Linden; brother-Anders; grandmothers-Vicky Loukus of Bootjack and Shirley Wetton of Dollar Bay; aunts and uncles-Sandy (Todd) Davis, John (Becky) Loukus, Michelle (Dan) Axford, Rob (Grace) Wetton, Sherry (Rod) Goulette; cousins-Mari, Cassie, and T.J. Davis, Hannah, Libby, Molly, and Jackie Loukus, Brady, Lukas, and Tyler Axford, Carrie (Jason) Tapani, Ryan Goulette; great-aunts-Pat Lambert and her daughter-Kristen (Mike) Roggemann, Laverne (Fred) Rauch, Carol Neher, Pat (Jim) Weir; his extended birth family from Escanaba; and other family and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 13, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Fr. Joseph Boakye Yiadom to officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 12, at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with a parish prayer service at 7:45. Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jack’s family or to an account at Superior National Bank for the Wetton Family.
