The Milwaukee Brewers began the regular season yesterday with a 12-inning, 2-1 victory over the San Diego Padres. Chase Anderson threw six shutout innings. He also singled, and scored a run in the third inning. That lead held up until San Diego tied the game with a run off Corey Knebel in the bottom of the ninth. The Padres loaded the bases against Jeremy Jeffress in the 11th, but couldn’t score. Orlando Arcia drove in Ji-Man Choi with game-winner in the 12th. The Brewers and Padres meet again this afternoon in San Diego. Jhoulys Chacin will pitch against Joey Lucchesi, who will make his major-league debut.

There are numerous reports that Milwaukee has agreed to a contract with reliever Dan Jennings. Nothing will be official until he passes a physical. Jennings was a late cut by the Tampa Bay Rays.
