Two People Injured In Crash Thursday

Two people were injured in a crash Thursday afternoon in Osceola Township.

Houghton County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two vehicle crash on Highway M-26 near Airport Park Road shortly after 2pm.

Authorities say a vehicle driven by a 58-year-old man from Macomb, Michigan was heading south on Airport Park Road when he was unable to stop at a stop sign.

He was then struck by a 28-year-old Houghton woman, who was headed west on M-26.

Both vehicles then struck parked tractors in the Wards Outdoor Equipment & Repair parking lot.

The drivers of the two vehicles were taken to U.P. Health System—Portage by friends and family.

Their conditions were not reported.

The accident remains under investigation.

Dollar Bay Fire and First Responders, Mercy Ambulance and Superior Service Towing assisted on the scene.
