Finlandia
The Finlandia University men’s men’s basketball team fell 80-72 at Crown College yesterday. Brandon Robinette led the Lions with 17 points, and Myles Ellington chipped in 16.
MTU/NMU
Both Michigan Tech basketball teams recorded wins over rival Northern Michigan University yesterday.
The women’s team got off to a strong start, and defeated the Wildcats 61-54. Elizabeth Kelliher led a balanced Huskies attack with 15 points.
The men’s team also got off to a fast start, on the way to a 77-66 victory. Kyle Monroe scored 31 for the Huskies.
NBA
The Detroit Pistons’ losing streak reached eight last night, with a 121-104 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The game was tied early in the fourth quarter, before Cleveland pulled away. The Pistons face the Cavaliers again tomorrow night in Detroit. Tip-off is at 8:00 on 99.3 The Lift.
NHL
The Detroit Red Wings return to action Wednesday at home against the San Jose Sharks. Pregame coverage will begin at 7:40 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Pacific Division defeated the Atlantic Division in the championship game of the NHL All-Star event yesterday. Detroit Red Wing Mike Green scored both Atlantic goals.
NFL
At the NFL Pro Bowl yesterday, the AFC overcame a 17-point deficit, and edged the NFC 24-23.
