Frances Hella, age 86 formerly of L’Anse, MI passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Texas Health in Allen, TX.
She was born October 25, 1931 in Detroit, MI daughter of Thomas and Virginia (Calandra) Culmone. Frances graduated from Dearborn High School in 1949 and in 1986 received a bachelor degree from Finlandia University. She married John Hella on May 29, 1978 in Laurium, MI. Frances worked as a counselor for KBIC Treatment Center.
She was a creative person and had a passion for reading, writing short stories, and liked to paint with water colors. Frances loved being around people. She volunteered at AA and was able to help many people.
She is survived by her children, Michael McCormick of Fennville, MI, Bonnie Simons of Allen, TX, Jennifer Kidd of Houston, TX; sister Barbara Jamison of Taylor, MI; grandson Adam McCormick.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband John; children, Robert McCormick, Frances McCormick, Jack Kidd; sister Margaret Metevier.
Graveside services will be held in the spring in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L’Anse is assisting the family.
