One of Finland’s most successful entrepreneurs will be speaking this afternoon in Hancock. Juha Vidgren is Chairman of the Board of the Ponsse Company, which manufactures high-tech logging equipment. Finlandia University International School of Business Dean Kevin Manninen says Ponsse began as a one-person business, started by Vidgren’s father… MANNINEN A. Vidgren’s presentation at 4:00 at the Finnish-American Heritage Center is open to the public. His appearance is co-sponsored by the new Upper Michigan Chapter of the Finnish-American Chamber of Commerce. Manninen says the idea for the chapter came out of last year’s FinnFest event… MANNINEN B. Not only will the chapter open up dialogue with business leaders in Finland, it will also put us in touch with other areas in the U.S. that have Finnish roots. Anyone can join the local chapter.
