Michigan Tech’s Sigma Pi Donates Money From Haunted House

Every year, the Michigan Tech fraternity Sigma Pi puts on an impressive Haunted House.

They then take the proceeds  and split the money between the Pigs N’ Heat fund and Dial Help.

Members of Sigma Pi, along with the sorority Theta Chi Epsilon, presented two checks at the regular meeting of the Houghton City Council Wednesday.

This was the 31st year that they have put on a haunted house for charity.

Lt. Nick Roberts of the Houghton Police Department says the houses have been supporting Pigs N’ Heat, a fund to help victims of fires and other tragedies, for at least 10 years.

Dial Help provides emergency support services for victims as well as a crisis intervention hotline.

$1,250 was generated this year to be split between the two organizations.
